Asian stocks rise after ECB to signal more stimulus

Asian stocks rose on Friday (23) after the Euro loan credit insurance pean Central Bank (ECB) signal that is ready to inject more stimulus into the economy.

At 7:38 a.m. (GMT), the MSCI index which includes shares of Asia-Pacific region excluding Japan advanced 1.54%, moving to close the week with a high of around 1%.

Japan's Nikkei index closed up 2.11%, ending the week with gains of 2.9%. But the Shanghai index rose 1.3% on Friday and closed the week with a gain of 0.6%.

"Investors and tra loan credit insurance ders are buying the idea of waiting for action by the Bank of Japan and the ECB," said Ben Le Brun, market analyst at provider of optionsXpress trading platform.


After the ECB left unchanged its mone loan credit insurance tary policy at its meeting on Thursday, as was expected, the bank's president, Mario Draghi said the ECB officials are "open to all a monetary policy menu" to boost the area's economy the euro as needed.
